Preference Signaling
Welcome to the Urology Match Preference Signaling Program, officially developed by the Society of Academic Urologists and the American Urological Association. Development input was also done in conjunction with key stakeholders, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Preference Signaling is an applicant driven, fair and equitable, formal process for applicants to express credible interest to a program. Programs can use signals in their application review process to assess credible interest amidst rising applications numbers. The process is completely voluntary for both applicants and programs although we believe it will add value to the Match process. We hope applicants will find the program useful to standout to programs in which they are truly interested, and programs will appreciate another metric in their review process to facilitate holistic review and optimal interview selections.
